LAS FOTOS
Las Fotos Project is a community program empowering Latina girls through photography. The girls are all from different neighborhoods, are taught photography skills and techniques, and are encouraged to think critically and explore creative writing. The 12-week program wraps up with an art exhibition open to the public.
MUSEUM OF LATIN AMERICAN ART
MOLAA, The Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, is the nation's leading museum of modern and contemporary Latin American art and culture. And now in its 18th year, the museum is doing something it's never done before. It will now invite Latino artists from the U.S. to exhibit in the museum! A ruling in June overturned a long-standing bylaw that only permitted artists who were born in, lived in or worked in Latin America to exhibit at the museum.
