Woodland Hills woman creates inspiring chalk art

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A Woodland Hills woman decided to create uplifting chalk messages in a campaign to bring more joy to people in the area.

Sadye Davenport is the artist, and she has been writing the chalk messages for more than a year all around her neighborhood.

"I can go out and make a difference in someone's day by leaving a little message for them, a little sprinkle of sunshine on the sidewalks around here in Woodland Hills," she said.

Ralph Bradley, who is training for a marathon at nearly 70 years old, said the message he saw gave him a confidence boost while he was out running.

Davenport said since she began posting her messages on social media, people throughout Los Angeles and beyond are chalking similar heartfelt messages on sidewalks.

"You can never have too much happy. You can have a big bucket full [of happy] and never not have enough," she said.

Even her 4-year-old son Indigo helps her put together inspiring chalk messages.
