HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- The AVP beach volleyball tournament will be held this weekend in Huntington Beach.

The event is the last leg of the AVP tour, with the championships being held on the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier.

Kerri Walsh Jennings, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and her new partner April Ross will play their first match at 1:15 p.m. Friday. Ross is a silver medalist from the 2012 Olympics.

"They're the best in the world. They've won every tournament on the AVP this year," said AVP spokesman Greg Ball. "It would be unprecedented for them to win every tournament, so big weekend for them."
