Cancer survivor signs one-day contract with Golden State Warriors

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Trent Frost is living the dream.

A basketball fan from Melbourne, Australia, the 20 year-old is hanging with fellow Aussie and Golden State Warrior's star, Andrew Bogut.

"We met a year back in Melbourne and he said, 'Come out one day, and we'll look after you.' So that was my wish, Make-A-Wish," said Frost.

Three years ago, Trent was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma and given just two weeks to live. A bone marrow transplant from his sister, and playing basketball on his Xbox, kept him going.

On Thursday, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he'll attend his first NBA game.

"I look at it as people coming 20 years, good or bad, win or lose, they still show up. Now they have a little more to cheer for, so it's exciting," said Warriors Coach Steve Kerr.

The excitement for Frost, who signed a one-day contract with the team, is that he'll get to shoot pre-game hoops with his idol.

"It's amazing. I'm at a loss for words," said Frost.

And how about being someone's No. 1 wish?

"It's pretty humbling. But we'll make sure he gets enough gear, shakes enough players hands and talks about this the rest of his life," said Bogut.

Hopefully, it's a long one. Last month, Trent learned that he is in remission.
