Don't diss the game for third place

Yes, it's sad. It's sad that two really good teams, Brazil and the Netherlands, have to duke out one final match that no one seems to care about. But Tom Dart argues that there are several reasons why you should.

Are we really complaining about one more match to watch, when soon everything will end and America will go back to its Rip Van Winkle status about soccer, for four more years. FOUR YEARS. You could have a kid by then.

Third place is a bronze medal. Third is nothing to sneeze at, and some studies have shown that third-placers are actually happier than their second-place counterparts.

"Just because Brazil and the Netherlands are mumbling "don't wanna" like sullen teenagers asked to tidy their rooms does not mean that no one appreciates the match."
