LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Two people were killed in a fiery crash Saturday night after a driver was cut off by another motorist on Shoreline Drive, investigators said.

Officers and firefighters responded at 10:45 p.m. to the 300 block of Shoreline, where a woman who had been ejected from a car was pronounced dead, said a spokesperson for the Long Beach Police Department.

A man who had been in the same vehicle was transported to a hospital, where he died.

According to investigators, both cars were traveling northbound on Shoreline and approaching Ocean Boulevard when the vehicles collided and one slammed into the center divider.

The driver who survived the crash was uninjured and remained at the scene, police said.

It was unclear if street racing or DUI were factors in the incident. No arrest was announced.
