DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- If you think you're driving through some of the worst traffic ever, you might just be right. A report from Caltrans lists the five worst bottlenecks in California, and all five of them are in Southern California.

These nightmarish traffic spots are in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The findings come from Caltrans' latest Mobility Performance Report, an annual traffic congestion report.

At the top of the list is a 6-mile stretch of Interstate 5, passing through Norwalk in between the 710 and 605 freeways.

"Well, I've got to drive through it because of work, but I'm just hoping that, or wishing that I didn't have to," said Cesar Reyes, a Santa Ana resident.

Other commuters say they do whatever they can do to avoid it.

"Travel when traffic dies down," advised Emma Briggs-Tatum, a Norwalk resident. "Usually early mornings, late and early evenings."

As for relieving congestion, Caltrans officials told Eyewitness News they're working on several plans, but not all are funded. They are planning to add carpool lanes on the 5 but not until 2025.

"It seems like an improvement to me, maybe. We'll see how it goes. There's a lot of drivers on the road," said one commuter.

Five worst bottleneck areas according to Caltrans:

1. Interstate 5 between the 710 and 605 freeways passing through Norwalk

2. Northbound 405 Freeway through Costa Mesa

3. Southbound 170 Freeway through Valley Village

4. Southbound 101 Freeway west of the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles

5. Eastbound 60 Freeway through Montebello
