LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A small group of protesters shut down traffic at 3rd Street and La Cienega Boulevard near the Beverly Center Friday afternoon.
Members of the LGBTQ community were scheduled to rally on the busy intersection, calling for an end to violence and homicides targeting transgender people across the U.S.
Earlier they were in the street and blocking the intersection at 3rd Street and San Vicente Boulevard, but they quickly moved to the sidewalk.
Protesters told Los Angeles police that they plan to stay until about 6:30 p.m. Traffic was reopened at about 6 p.m.
