Southbound 405 closed from Sunset to Santa Monica Sunday, Monday nights

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The southbound 405 Freeway will be closed overnight Sunday and Monday nights on the Westside.

Southbound lanes will be closed between Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from midnight Sunday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 16; then from midnight Monday, June 16, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 17.

Ramps will begin closing at 7 p.m., and lanes will begin to close at 11 p.m. on Sunday and Monday nights.

The lanes will be closed for roadway improvements as part of the ongoing I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project.

Ramp Closures:

  • Southbound on-ramp from eastbound Wilshire Boulevard
  • Southbound on-ramp from westbound Wilshire Boulevard
  • Southbound on-ramp from eastbound Sunset Boulevard
  • Southbound on-ramp from westbound Sunset Boulevard

For a detour, Metro recommends taking the southbound Sunset off-ramp, then heading north on Church Lane, turning south on Sepulveda to west on Santa Monica Boulevard to the southbound Santa Monica on-ramp.
