Cerritos, Calif. -- A man died after he was pulled from a lake at a park in Cerritos on Sunday.

Los Angeles County firefighters said a man in his late 30s was in the middle of the lake at Cerritos Regional County Park when he went under just before 6:30p.m.

There was no word on what the man was doing in the lake, since swimming isn't allowed. Firefighters say he was at the park with his family.

A number of rescuers jumped in to try to find the man, but couldn't.

Divers eventually found the man and pulled him to shore. Firefighters rushed him to the hospital, but say he was already in full cardiac arrest. He did not survive.
