CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- Cleanup continued Monday in Camarillo Springs, where a rain spell sent a massive debris flow down a hillside.

A chair still sits in feet of mud outside Mim and Henry Needham's house, a reminder of a weekend of loss and fear.

Their home remains red-tagged, but on Sunday, they had a joyous reunion when their 5-year-old dog, Tinkerbell, was found. They thought she had been lost in the debris.

"It was the miracle on San Como Lane. We're all excited about it," said neighbor Hal Hyman. "It was more rain in a short time than anyone around here has ever experienced -- heaviest downpour ever."

Bill Golubics, who lives next door, also had to evacuate. He's trying to figure out where to begin cleaning up the mess and who will pay for it.

"Call the insurance company, see what I need to do to have a potential claim. If they can help out, that would be fine. If not, just cleaning up," said Golubics.

Authorities said the mud flow was caused by a clogged drainage canal.

"I think the most important step is to have someone get up there and take a look to see how much debris is still up there that could come down these canyons," said resident Bill Leach.
