Since the Colby Fire charred the hillsides two years ago, homeowners are always prepared for the worst.
K-rail and sandbags are permanent fixtures now in case of a mudslide.
The city has sand shovels and bags at the corner of Loraine and Alosta avenues for anyone who needs extras.
Resident Sharon Pichotta-Jones is not worried.
"I'm just about to do a rain dance, because we need it. Mud or not, we need the rain," she said.
In Orange County, Mother Nature already doused Irvine, where cars got a good soaking. It came down even harder in San Bernardino County overnight.

A low-pressure system is expected to bring some significant rainfall across the Southland during the early afternoon and evening hours and stick around until Friday. By late Friday morning, another stronger system will move into the area and possibly bring heavier rain.
Things are expected to clear and temps will likely lift back up just in time for Mother's Day weekend.
