Dangerous rip currents, creating waves as high as 7 feet, are expected across the Southland during the Labor Day weekend.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Dangerous rip currents, creating waves as high as 7 feet, are expected across the Southland during the Labor Day weekend.

Lifeguards up and down the coast warn beachgoers to be safe and remain aware of what is going on in the ocean.

Sacred Cove trail and beach at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park in Palos Verdes was shut down until Tuesday because of the dangerous swells and conditions in the water.
