SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KABC) -- San Diego County officials have identified a juvenile suspect in the Cocos Fire, which burned dozens of homes in San Marcos.

The fire, which hopscotched through San Marcos and neighboring Escondido, started on May 14 and charred nearly 2,000 acres.

Investigators say they sifted through many tips and photos provided by the public and were able to identify a juvenile suspect. The sheriff's department did not indicate if anyone was in custody.

The suspect's identity has not been released due to the person's age.

Detectives say they don't have any information linking the suspect to any other fires that ripped through the county at the time.
