SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was found dead inside an apartment on Monday, and now two people are in custody.

According to Santa Ana police, the apartment may be some sort of drug lab. Hazmat and OCFA were on scene.

Authorities received a call from an unknown man, telling them about an injured woman in an apartment in the 200 block of S. Birch Street. Responding officers saw a woman on the floor bleeding. They also saw a man who was with the victim in the apartment.

Officers forced their way into the apartment and discovered that the woman was dead.

Authorities detained the man, described to be in his 30s, at the scene. A second man, believed to be the one who called police, was also taken into custody for questioning. Both men are considered "persons of interest."

The victim was identified only as a woman in her 50s.

Neighbors say the apartment has been a "trouble spot" for years, with lots of drug activity. Police confirmed that they have responded to the location before for drug-related issues.

Homicide investigators were on scene. The neighborhood is about a block away from Santa Ana High School.
