East 10 Freeway reopens at La Brea after fire knocked down

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- All lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway reopened following a grass fire that was knocked down near La Brea on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said.

The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. and the flames spread to numerous trees nearby.

About 24 firefighters responded to the scene and knocked down the blaze within 22 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The freeway was shut down for about an hour following the firefight. All lanes reopened around 5 p.m.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. A cause remains under investigation.
