3 injured after car crashes into building, bursts into flames in San Fernando Valley

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- Three people were injured after a driver lost control of their car and crashed into the side of a Target store, causing the vehicle to burst into flames in the San Fernando Valley early Sunday morning.

Authorities received a call around 1:39 a.m. regarding a car that had veered off the road and crashed into a building.

The car was traveling eastbound near De Soto Avenue, veered off the roadway and hit a nearby Target building that was adjacent to the 101 Freeway.

The driver was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and two passengers were transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Their conditions and extent of injuries sustained in the crash were unknown.

A witness at the scene captured the fiery scene in a video.

California Highway officers did not suspect alcohol was involved in the crash. The cause was under investigation.
