NB 101 Freeway temporarily shut in Hollywood after man threatens to jump off overpass

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- All northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway were shut down in Hollywood Thursday morning after a man was taken into custody for threatening to jump off an overpass.

CHP shut down all lanes at Sunset Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m.

Police and fire officials were able to talk to the man and get him down from the overpass. He was then taken into custody.

Traffic was jammed in both directions - northbound to the 60 Freeway and southbound to the 110 Freeway.

All lanes were reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
