Fire erupts in Hancock Park Condominium

HANCOCK PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Over 50 firefighters knocked down a raging blaze at a four-story condominium complex in Hancock Park Sunday.

The fire was reported around 1:13 p.m. in the 4400 block of Wilshire Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One heavily-damaged unit on the third floor of the building was impacted, LAFD said.

Within 30 minutes, 55 firefighters knocked down the blaze. One 22-year-old resident of the complex sustained a foot laceration while exiting and was treated and released at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

LAFD advised people to avoid Wilshire Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard during the cleaup.

No further details were immediately available. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
