Man shot while sitting in car in unincorporated Monrovia

MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was shot while sitting in his car in an unincorporated area of Monrovia Sunday night, sheriff's deputies said.

The shooting was reported in the 2300 block of S. California Avenue shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The victim was transported with a single gunshot wound to his lower back or side. He was listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities do not believe this was a gang-related shooting.
