LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It just got a little easier to get your favorite meal delivered to your doorstep.

Uber is expanding its meal-delivery service to Los Angeles and other cities. The UberEats app provides meal delivery from restaurants for a $5 fee. Users have to come to the curb to pick up their orders.

The UberEats service is available seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The rollout is coming as one smaller food-delivery competitor, Berkley-based SpoonRocket says it is shutting down because of more competition and trouble raising capital.
