PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A man and his pregnant girlfriend were arrested in Palmdale Wednesday night after leading sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase while tossing bags of methamphetamine out of the vehicle's window.

The incident began around 7:45 p.m. as authorities tried to pull the wanted parolee over near 40th Street E. and E. Palmdale Boulevard.

The pursuit, which lasted about 10 minutes, ended near 50th Street E. and Avenue N.

A search of the vehicle turned up additional narcotics and firearms, sheriff's deputies said. Drugs were also found at the unidentified parolee's home.

Authorities say the suspect's pregnant girlfriend also faces multiple felony charges.
