Female pedestrian hit by car, killed in Pomona

POMONA, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman in her 40s was killed after being struck by a car in Pomona Sunday night.

Authorities said around 10:10 p.m., Pomona officers headed to Reservoir Street and Phillips Boulevard on reports of a car hitting a pedestrian.

The woman was hit while she was walking in the street, authorities said, but it was unclear if she was crossing or had just been walking within traffic lanes.

She sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The driver, a Chino resident, showed no signs of being under the influence and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
