CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- A driver suspected of driving a stolen car onto the California State University Channel Islands campus was found stabbed Wednesday morning.

Around 12:30 p.m., campus police received a call from a student about a suspicious car with four people inside. The people in the car had flagged down the student claiming they were lost.

An officer went to investigate the car and noticed a traffic violation. Dispatch informed the officer that the car was stolen and the four people were removed from the car.

The officer then noticed the driver was bleeding from his abdomen and he told the officer he had been stabbed. The driver did not want to cooperate with officers and was taken to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

He was later released and the four people were taken into custody. Authorities were investigating the stolen car.

Authorities said no students were involved in the incident.
