Man's body found in trunk of car parked outside Ontario Mills Mall

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man's body was found in a car in the parking lot of the Ontario Mills Mall. Police are looking into the possibility that the death may have been a suicide.

Ontario police responded to a report from mall security about a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot between the mall and the movie theater shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.

The man's identity was not officially released, but police said the car belongs to a man reported missing in South Carolina.

Authorities also say the body was found in the trunk of the vehicle.

Police said there were no visible signs of injury or foul play, and all indications so far point to suicide as a possibility.

The investigation is ongoing.
