LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (KABC) -- A small brush fire erupted Monday afternoon in the Laguna Niguel area, threatening homes for a short time.

The blaze erupted around 1:15 p.m. in the area of Cabot Road and Paseo De La Colinas, scorching 2.5 acres.

ABC7 viewer Maricel Vest sent us video of crews battling the fire by using #abc7eyewitness.

Firefighters attacked the flames and expected a knockdown by 2:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
