Bank robber in white jumpsuit brandishes gun, uses pepper spray in Sierra Madre heist

SIERRA MADRE, Calif. (KABC) -- A masked robber clad in a white jumpsuit stormed into a bank in Sierra Madre and demanded money at gunpoint.

City officials said the take-over style robbery occurred around 1 p.m. Wednesday at a Bank of the West branch on Sierra Madre Boulevard between Hermosa Avenue and Windsor Lane.

According to the FBI, the robber demanded money, pepper-sprayed a teller and two other people, and then took off in a silver colored sedan driven by another person.

The suspect was described to be wearing a white jumpsuit, a painters-style mask and a black wide-brimmed hat.
