WILMINGTON, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect was arrested Wednesday morning for a shooting in Wilmington that killed an 18-year-old and left two other teens wounded.

Authorities described the suspect as a male juvenile. His name has not been released.

The shooting happened near Banning High School around 3:12 p.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Broad Avenue. Police believe the shooting is gang-related.

Police said the deceased man was shot in the chest. One of the victims who survived was shot in the back and listed in critical but stable condition. The other was shot in the arm and is considered in stable condition.

The wounded victims are current students at Banning High School, police said.

Family members identified the deceased victim as 18-year-old Richard Tafoya and acknowledged he is a member of a gang. Police say he was a former student.
