HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Singer Chiquis Rivera, daughter of the late Latina superstar Jenni Rivera, continued her mother's tradition of supporting the patients of Children's Hospital Los Angeles by bringing them gifts and cards for Halloween.

Rivera delivered cat-o-grams and goodie bags sent in from thousands of Eyewitness News viewers and other well-wishers.

"It's difficult moments not only for the kids but for the parents," Rivera said.

She added she was glad "to be able to be here and make them smile and share with them that so many people around the world are supporting them."

During the 10-day campaign, 19,000 cards from around the world were generated and more continue to come in.

Recipients of the gifts included 14-month-old Gemma Delgado, who has fought leukemia for a year, and Chloe Dollar, a 13-year-old battling lymphoma.

Though the laminated cards contained simple messages, they meant much to the hospital's patients.

"It does mean a lot when you're in the hospital because not all the time you get to talk to a lot of people and it's cool to know that they actually care," Dollar said.
