LA County Sheriff's Department beefs up patrols at polls on Election Day

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it will increase patrols around polling sites on Election Day.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell said his department was responsible for securing the polls and making sure all the ballots safely make it to Norwalk where they would be counted.

"The sheriff's department is responsible for the security of the polls, the transportation of the ballots and making sure everything is done right and legitimately," McDonnell explained.
