USC Village nears competition, promising hundreds of new jobs
The USC Village is set to open fall of 2017 with the promise of hundreds of new jobs for the large housing, retail and college space.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Construction for the USC Village is near completion, promising hundreds of new jobs to become the largest marketplace of its kind in South Los Angeles when it opens fall of 2017.

Construction director Willy Marsh said more than 2 million man hours have gone into the $700 million project since it broke ground about two years ago.

The space is set to house about 2,700 students and features a Harry Potter-themed dining hall. Additionally, the 120,000 square feet of retail space includes Trader Joe's, Target, and Bank of America.
