Husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor remembers her love for Hollywood

BEL AIR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor remembered the late actress as a good woman who deeply loved being part of Hollywood.

Frederic Prinz von Anhalt spent 30 years married to the actress and socialite, who died Sunday at age 99.

Over the years, they both had their tabloid moments. She infamously slapped a traffic cop in 1990. He at one time claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter.

In the end, he was by her side.

"The way I see it, when I felt her hand and it was cold already, she was slowly slipping away peacefully without pain and it was just the time for her to go," von Anhalt said, speaking at the Bel-Air estate the couple called home.

One of Gabor's most-remembered roles was also one of her earliest, in 1952's "Moulin Rouge." Over the years, she made numerous appearances in film and television, but eventually became more known for her persona and socialite roles than her acting.

Eventually her health began failing and she retreated inside the walls of her mansion.

Gabor loved the spotlight and it loved her back.

"She was a very good woman and you guys cover Hollywood and I must tell you I think there was nobody here in Hollywood who loved Hollywood as much as Zsa Zsa Gabor" von Anhalt said.

He is planning to hold a public funeral service at a date to be determined.
