FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office identified a man who was shot and killed by law enforcement in Coalinga Wednesday as 24-year-old Anthony Lovell Eddington.

The sheriff's office said Thursday that he is one of the suspects in a double homicide in Riverside that happened in October 2015.

Two people were killed in a shooting at an intersection on Oct. 23. Authorities said the victims were just standing on a street corner when a man and an accomplice both got out of a dark-colored mid-2000s sedan and opened fire.

Authorities had not pinned down a motive, but said the suspects were gang members, while the victims were not and may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A third person was shot, but survived.

Riverside police were expected to release more details on the standoff and suspect Thursday morning.
