VALENCIA, SANTA CLARITA (KABC) -- Family members are searching for a Valencia man, who they say suddenly disappeared and left dinner on the stove.

The family of William Cierzan, 58, said he was last seen in his home six nights ago. Detectives said the man's wife came home that night and he was gone, but blood was found inside.

"They found some apparent blood stains inside the residence. Investigators from homicide were called due to the obvious suspicious circumstances we have in fact verified through the crime lab," L.A. County sheriff's Detective Ralph Hernandez said.

Cierzan's family said they fear the worst and desperately want the public's help to find him.

The missing man's wife said it is totally out character for him to leave without a trace. She said the night he turned up missing, she had just spoken to him before heading home from work.

She said when she arrived home that night, she found his wallet, keys and other personal belongings but not him.

"He was happy. He was telling me he was making dinner because he likes to cook now, and that he had a good day watching golf," Linda Cierzan said.

She added that it is hard to deal with his disappearance because he would not do something like this.

Authorities said they have surveillance video from the area near the man's home, but it's grainy. They hope JPL officials can help them get a better picture to piece together the mystery.

Detectives ask anyone in the public with more information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
