Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Lee Smith has been charged after allegedly stomping on the head of his sister's boyfriend in Pasadena, prosecutors announced Thursday.

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Lee Smith has been charged after allegedly stomping on the head of his sister's boyfriend in Pasadena, prosecutors announced Thursday.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed two felony counts against Smith: assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury.

The incident occurred July 4 in Pasadena's Old Town district, near the intersection of Arroyo Parkway and Colorado Boulevard, according to the DA.

Smith is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 29 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

If convicted as charged, the NFLer faces a possible maximum sentence of seven years in state prison, according to the DA's office.
