PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men and a woman have been found dead in Palmdale in an incident that authorities are investigating as a triple murder.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a welfare check at a home in the 1100 block of Avenue N-12 after a woman said she went to pick up her brother for a birthday dinner and he was nowhere to be found, said Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities discovered three deceased individuals -- the woman's father, who was in his 80s, along with another man and a woman in their 50s.

"Although the victims match the description of the persons who are known to reside at the location, a positive identification of the victims is pending," the sheriff's department said in a Sunday statement.

Investigators said the men and woman "suffered some trauma to their bodies," adding that coroner's officials would determine the exact cause of death.

No one was in custody in the case, and a description of a suspect was not available.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
