COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Centennial High School in Compton was closed Thursday morning while authorities investigated a bomb threat.

Sheriff's officials say they received a call around 7:11 a.m. from an unknown male who said there was a bomb on campus.

The threat was made before classes started, so students who arrived early were escorted to a rally point north of campus, according to officials.

The campus was expected to be closed until investigators deem it is safe for students and faculty to return.
