Shooting in Compton leaves 1 dead, 1 in stable condition

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A man died and another was wounded in a shooting in Compton Saturday night.

The shooting occurred at about 8:32 p.m. on the 2000 block of North Wilmington Avenue, authorities said.

When authorities arrived, they found one man who was shot in his upper body. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was found with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities did not have any suspect information and no known motive for the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
