LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- The death of a Lancaster woman who drowned in a pool on Wednesday afternoon has been labeled an accident by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Barry White found his wife's body at their home. He said his wife Mele was an experienced swimmer.

"She was in the pool. She was swimming for hours and she just kind of floated. She might have fallen asleep, I am not sure," he said.

Authorities launched an investigation, initially citing possible suspicious circumstances. Her death has since been labeled an accident.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office will be performing an autopsy on Mele White within the next couple of days.
