ENCINO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad cleared what appeared to be a suspicious package that was found in the 16000 block of Ventura Boulevard in Encino.

Around 2 p.m., police were notified of a suspicious package near a commercial building in the area. The bomb squad ruled the item a non-threat two hours later.

During the investigation, streets surrounding the area were closed off.

The package contained a person's personal items, according to authorities.
