VALENCIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men have been detained for questioning in connection to a 3-acre brush fire that broke out in the wash of the Santa Clara River in Valencia on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to flames at about 3:45 p.m. north of Magic Mountain Parkway and east of 5 Freeway. Three helicopters could be seen making drops of water.

By about 4:25 p.m., firefighters were hiking in to put out the remaining flames.

Winds were blowing at 5 to 10 miles per an hour. By about 6:30 p.m., the fire was about 80 percent contained, Los Angeles County firefighters reported.

The cause has not been determined and no arrests have been made, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.

No injuries or evacuations were immediately reported.
