One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man who was walking around South Los Angeles carrying a knife and wearing no shirt was killed in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning, officials say.

The incident happened in the area of 29th Street and Central Avenue, around 8 a.m.

Police did not immediately have details on the incident, but a body was at the scene covered by a tent.

A witness told Eyewitness News the suspect appeared to have a knife.

It was not immediately known if any officers were injured.
