Car slams into Sun Valley motel, driver arrested for DUI

SUN VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A car careened off the 5 Freeway and crashed into the back of a Sun Valley motel, damaging two rooms early Friday morning.

California Highway Patrol officers said the car was on the 5 Freeway when it flew off the road near the Glenoaks off-ramp and slammed into Willows Motel.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m.

Two occupied units were affected in the crash, but no motel patrons were hurt.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital in fair condition. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
