Car stopped in 91 Fwy carpool lane destroyed in fiery crash

BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) -- Flames devoured a car stopped in the carpool lane on the westbound 91 Freeway in Bellflower after a tour bus crashed into it on Sunday.

The collision was reported at about 12:30 a.m. near the 605 Freeway. A gold Nissan Altima stopped on the carpool lane due to a traffic hazard.

The two people from the sedan jumped onto the median barrier moments before the bus crashed into the car.

The sedan burst into flames and was completely destroyed. Firefighters arrived and quickly put out the fire.

No one was injured. No arrests were made.

The westbound 91 Freeway was briefly closed as crews cleaned up the accident.
