WESTMONT, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Ninety-Fifth Street Preparatory School in Westmont was placed on lockdown for several hours Tuesday due to police activity in the area.
Inglewood police said they were investigating a barricaded suspect in the area. No further details about the police activity were immediately available.
Officials at the school, located near 97th Street and Budlong Avenue, said students and staff members are safe. The lockdown was lifted at 12:50 p.m.
The students had lunch in their classrooms. School police helped escort students to their parents following dismissal at 1:29 p.m.
