WASHINGTON (KABC) -- United Airlines is apologizing after a man with cerebral palsy had to crawl off a plane because the special wheelchair for him never came.
D'Arcee Neal said he landed at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after attending a meeting in San Francisco about disabled accessibility. Neal waited, but the special wheelchair to take him from the plane to the terminal never came.
He crawled to the terminal, where a wheelchair was waiting with flight attendants.

United Airlines said the special wheelchair was mistakenly removed from the gate and then returned, but it was too late.
Neal said United Airlines gave him $300 and was told the manager on duty was reportedly suspended.
