OK, so it's not technically gold, but if you want a gold Apple Watch without spending thousands, this might be your best bet.

Gold Apple Watches run for $12,000 (or $15,000, if you want certain models), but one man made one that looks eerily similar to those for right around $400.

"I want a Gold Apple Watch but I only have $399," Casey Neistat explained in a video with more than 1 million views.

So Neistat, an NYC-based filmmaker, bought a regular Apple Watch and made it gold himself. His method? Spray paint.

Neistat makes it look fairly simple. After unwrapping his regular Apple Watch, he slips off the straps. He then covers the watch in masking tape. He takes a knife and carefully cuts away the tape from the parts he wants to paint, leaving the face of the watch covered.

Next he attacks the watch with a thick layer of gold spray paint on both sides. After the paint dries, he carefully peels off the tape and viola! He's left with a "gold" Apple Watch.

What do you think of this Apple "hack?" Would you try it? Let us know in the comments.
