ARCADIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two armed suspects broke into an Arcadia home, pistol-whipped a resident and fled. Now the search is on for the culprits.

The frightening home invasion occurred shortly after 1 a.m. in a cul-de-sac in the 1900 block of Tulip Lane. The normally quiet corner of Arcadia suddenly became the focus of police attention.

Grace Tang said her father is in the hospital but was expected to be released sometime Thursday.

Her father is going to be OK, but family members are understandably shaken up. Neighbors are also surprised to see this kind of trouble here.

"I have kids and I have to now worry about my children, my wife, my family. I have to worry about my neighbors because, like I said, we have very good neighbors here," said an area resident.

Police said the suspects made entry through a side door. Tang thinks her father must have caught them off guard and kept them from getting away with anything.

"They climbed over the gates on the side," Tang said. "My brother could hear them rattling, but he didn't know what was going on, and then they pried open one of the back doors."

Despite the trouble, Tang isn't giving up on this neighborhood.

"I don't see ourselves moving. Maybe getting tighter security, but I don't see ourselves moving from this place," Tang said. "It's a good neighborhood."

If you have any information about this incident, you're urged to contact the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5151.
