Breast cancer risk was overestimated

Women with gene mutations increasing their risk for breast cancer may have less reason to worry.Researchers for the National Cancer Institute now say these women face a 40- to 51-percent chance of developing breast cancer by age 70. That's compared to previous overestimates of 50- to 80-percent.

Currently, gene testing is only recommended for women in families already affected by cancer.
