The Hollywood writers strike threatens to derail the Oscars next month, but contingency plans are in the works to ensure the ceremony does go on.The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is planning two different shows. According to Daily Variety, the alternative show could rely on award presenters to come up with their own speeches.

The Grammys are also scheduled for next month, but a spokesman for the Writers Guild of America says it will likely bar its members from participating in that telecast.
